Eid’s Smile

In the winter of 2018, near the Jordanian capital Amman, my colleagues and I — then members of the Syrian Students Association in Jordanian Universities and the organization “Hathi Hayati ” — organized an interactive activity for children on the occasion of the holiday.

The event targeted children living in one of the informal Syrian refugee camps near Amman. It included singing, drawing, sweets, and learning through play — all activities that brought together the children and the volunteers in a joyful and heartwarming atmosphere.

The activity left a positive impact on both the children and the volunteers.
The children felt happy, learned new skills, and realized that they were not alone. As for us, we felt proud to have contributed to organizing such an initiative. It reminded us of the importance of cooperation and of every child’s right to learn and explore the world around them.

During my studies in Jordan at Luminus University, I joined the Syrian Students Association in Jordanian Universities, a volunteer team based in Amman, the Jordanian capital.
During my time with the team, I took part in organizing a variety of activities and student events — including Ramadan gatherings, Eid celebrations, visits to informal refugee camps, and artistic and cultural activities for children.
