Photography basics: A workshop for children
January 2019 in the winter.
During my volunteer work with the Vento di Terra organization in Jordan, I participated in organizing and covering several artistic, cultural, and educational events and activities.
One of my first and most unique experiences was a short workshop on the basics of photography for children.
The idea came up while I was covering some of the school’s activities. The children asked me: ‚How does the camera work?‘ ‚I want to see myself on the screen!‘ ‚I want to take pictures of my friends… Teach us how!‘
I didn’t hesitate on my next visit to the school, and they quickly learned the fundamental basics of using the camera and taking photos.
It was a unique and enriching experience for them, as they learned a new skill, and happiness was clearly visible on their faces, which had been worn down by the difficulties of displacement.
