Wadi Rum: A space for cultural exchange
In the summer of 2018, I participated—together with several Syrian filmmakers—in a cultural exchange initiative organized in collaboration with the University of Jordan in Amman. The program brought us together with a group of foreign students, most of whom were German.
During the exchange, we screened a selection of documentary films about Syria and engaged in meaningful discussions about the stories, perspectives, and realities they presented. It was a valuable opportunity to share experiences, exchange ideas, and explore how others perceive our culture and region.

Later, we organized a group trip to Wadi Rum, one of Jordan’s most remarkable natural and historical sites. We explored its landscapes, learned about its history, and spent memorable moments together—taking photos, watching the sunset, and enjoying dinner inside a traditional Bedouin tent, the symbolic home of the desert’s people.
The experience was truly unique and inspiring, and I’m grateful to have been one of its organizers.

These vehicles are the most practical means of transportation in such terrain, as they are well-suited for driving over sand.
